Faculty, Staff, and Students of Northwestern State University can use the myNSU portal to manage your password. Options are available to setup your password change methods, change your password, or reset your password and/or unlock your account. You can setup a phone capable of text messaging, an alternate email address, or the Microsoft Authenticator app for account verification to reset your password if you have forgotten it, or if your account is locked out.

To setup your password reset information:

1. Access the portal at http://my.nsula.edu

2. Hover over, or tap on, the Password Manager link in the top bar.

3. Click or tap the Setup Password Reset link.

4. If you were not already logged into the portal, you will be asked to log into Office 365.

5. Once logged in you will be taken to the Security Info page.

6. Select the Add method button.

To change your password before it expires:

1. Access the portal at http://my.nsula.edu

2. Hover over, or tap on, the Password Manager link in the top bar.

3. Click or tap the Change Password link.

To reset a forgotten or expired password, or to unlock an account:

1. Access the portal at http://my.nsula.edu

2. Hover over, or tap on, the Password Manager link in the top bar.

3. Click or tap the Forgot Password? link.

4. You will need to enter your email address and verification text on the screen.

5. Choose whether you would like to reset your password (I forgot my password), or if you want to unlock your account (I know my password, but still can't sign in)

6. Choose which method you want to use to verify your account. If you only have one method setup then it will start going through the verification process using that method.

7. Once you have chosen the method to use, follow the prompts to verify your account and change your password.
